Privacy Policy

1. Your models never leave your device

PrintSlice's core function — loading an STL file, splitting it, generating connectors, and exporting the result — runs entirely inside your own browser. Your 3D model files are never uploaded to, transmitted to, or stored on our servers at any point. We have no access to them.

2. What we do collect

Beyond your model files, running the service does involve some personal data. Here's exactly what, and why:

We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in between visits, to remember whether you've dismissed certain on-page notices, and to remember your cookie choice and language choice. This stays on your own device.

If you arrive through a referral or creator link (printslice.co.uk/r/…), we set a printslice_ref cookie that holds only that link's code, for up to 30 days, so the discount or longer trial it offers is applied when you check out. It isn't used for tracking or advertising.

Translation

We show the site in your browser's language. For Portuguese, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Dutch, Polish and Japanese, we use our own translations, which run entirely in your browser and send nothing anywhere. For any other language, we use Google Translate: the text of the page you're viewing is sent to Google to be translated, and a googtrans cookie remembers the language. It's a functional cookie that only stores the language code. Google processes this under its own privacy policy. What you type into forms, your email address and your 3D models are never sent to Google. You can switch back to English at any time with the language menu in the bottom-right corner. Our Terms and this Privacy Policy are only provided in English.

Analytics cookies

If you click Accept on our cookie banner, we load Microsoft Clarity, which uses cookies to record how you interact with our pages (clicks, scrolling, mouse movement) so we can see where the site is confusing or broken. Text you type into forms, including your email and password, is masked and never recorded. If you click Decline, Clarity is never loaded. Microsoft processes this data under its own privacy statement.

You can change your choice at any time: change cookie settings.

3. Third parties we use

We rely on a small number of service providers to run PrintSlice, each of whom processes data on our behalf under their own privacy and security terms:

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
• Stripe — subscription billing and payment processing.
• Netlify — website hosting, serverless functions, and form submissions.
• Microsoft Clarity — site analytics and session recordings, only if you accept analytics cookies.
• Resend — sending account-related emails.
• Reddit — the Reddit Pixel, which measures whether people who see our Reddit ads go on to sign up.
• Google — Google Translate, only when your browser's language isn't one we translate ourselves.

We don't sell your personal data to anyone, and we don't share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

4. How long we keep data

We keep account and subscription data for as long as your account exists, so we can maintain your access and billing history. Contact, early-access and affiliate-application form submissions are kept long enough to respond to and process your request. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see Section 6).

5. Legal basis for processing

We process your data to perform our contract with you (running your account and subscription), to comply with legal obligations (such as billing records), and, in limited cases like error reports, on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the service working correctly. Analytics cookies (Microsoft Clarity) are only used with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export the personal data we hold about you, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below and we'll respond as required by applicable law. If you're in the UK or EU, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office) if you believe we've mishandled your data.

7. Children's privacy

PrintSlice isn't directed at children, and you must be at least 18 to create an account or use the service, per our Terms & Conditions. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children. If you think someone under 18 has signed up, please contact us so we can remove the account.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
